Beverly Hills has had a working subway station since May 8, 2026. It sits at the northeast corner of Wilshire and La Cienega. The second station is still behind K-rail on both sides of Wilshire. Metro's own documents show its door will open onto Reeves Drive, it gets no new parking structure, and it won't be the end of the line. The D Line was built into Beverly Hills as a stop you walk to on your way somewhere else, and the La Cienega end of the city has been living with that version for five months.

The City of Beverly Hills' Metro FAQ says plainly that Century City/Constellation, not Beverly Dr, will be the terminus when Section 2 opens. So the trains coming to the Golden Triangle will keep going past it. That shapes the way the city has prepared for the station, which comes up below. First, the stop that is already running.
According to Metro's The Source, a ride from Wilshire/La Cienega to Union Station takes about 20 minutes with no transfer. Metro built each new station with a landscaped street-level plaza, elevators and escalators, bike parking, and connections to local buses. Recently the city added its own mark. In its October 8 issue, Beverly Press ran a photo of new street signs carrying the Beverly Hills city logo, mounted on the traffic signals at Wilshire/La Cienega.
The city's visitor guide, Love Beverly Hills, lists what's around this entrance: Restaurant Row, the Saban Theatre, La Cienega Tennis Center, and La Cienega Park and Community Center. Metro counts Lawry's as part of that Restaurant Row.
Ridership is only reported for the whole line, so no one has published a count for this one station. Metro said D Line ridership in May 2026 ran 62% above May 2025 and estimated 8,000 to 10,000 added daily rides once the three new stations opened. For June 2026, the first full month of service, Metro reported ridership up more than 45% overall and 70% on Saturdays compared with June 2024. On opening week, the Los Angeles Times talked to people who live near Wilshire/La Cienega. One was excited to try the train. Another was weighing it against the convenience of having a car.
The next stop east is Wilshire/Fairfax, across the street from the Academy Museum and LACMA campus. Here is what's running this fall:
From La Cienega, all of this is one stop away, with no parking to find on Wilshire at the other end.
For most of its planning life, the second station was called Wilshire/Rodeo. On May 22, 2025, the Metro Board adopted "Beverly Dr" as its official name. The new name matches the station's footprint better. The station box runs under Wilshire from just east of South Cañon Drive to El Camino Drive, and the single planned entrance is on the southwest corner of Wilshire and Reeves Drive. The city's guide lists the nearby destinations as South Beverly Drive, the SIRTAJ Hotel, SIXTY Beverly Hills, AKA Beverly Hills, the Beverly Wilshire, and Rodeo Drive.
The city has planned this stop as a place people walk to:
For residents of the Flats and the blocks south of Wilshire, that makes the station a walk, a bike ride, or a drop-off away.
Beverly Press's October 8 update describes the Beverly Drive Station work in progress:
The work has already reached the surface. Metro's September 2026 community deck scheduled street trees for both sides of Wilshire between El Camino and Crescent that month, with sidewalk detours during installation. It also listed more restoration north of Wilshire near the former North Cañon construction yard. In early September, Beverly Press reported sidewalk restoration at Sterling Plaza on the corner of Wilshire and Beverly Drive.
Two dates just west of the city line matter for anyone driving toward Century City. A new waterline on Avenue of the Stars keeps the southbound lane on the west side closed at Constellation through October 16. The north sidewalk of Constellation, from Avenue of the Stars to the Westfield ADA ramp, stays closed through November 11. Further west, eastbound Wilshire between Gayley Avenue and Westwood Boulevard closes overnight through December 31.
Metro's September 2026 schedule lists Section 2 operations for Spring 2027 and marks the schedule "subject to change." On October 8, Beverly Press was still reporting the opening as "next spring."
Metro's May 2026 status report on Section 2, dated June 23, 2026, puts the project at 92% complete. The same report's schedule table shows a contractual substantial-completion date of June 11, 2026 and a contractor forecast of January 29, 2027, a variance of 232 days. The report's narrative gives a different figure: 378 days behind the contractual date. The table's January 29, 2027 forecast lines up with the 232-day figure. Measured from June 11, 2026, the narrative's 378 days would land in late June 2027. Passenger service comes after substantial completion, so Spring 2027 is Metro's forecast, not a scheduled opening day.
The Beverly Drive corridor has seen changes of its own while the station has been under construction. Beverly Press reported that Il Fornaio at 301 N. Beverly Drive would close after service on January 11, 2026, citing a lease expiration. In August 2025, Eater LA reported that Sant Ambroeus planned a 2026 opening at Beverly Drive and Dayton Way. That was an announcement, and we haven't seen confirmation that it has opened.
Metro has also put money into the blocks next to the work zone. Its September deck reports $456,090.10 in Business Interruption Fund awards across 10 grants for the Beverly Drive Station area, with data as of April 30, 2026. Through Metro's Eat Shop Play program, businesses within a quarter-mile can get free marketing, coaching, and promotion. Under Metro's current forecast, the entrance at the southwest corner of Wilshire and Reeves opens to riders in Spring 2027, and its trains run on to Century City.
